Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about choosing, fitting and using a RESTNLOAD mount. For exact frame dimensions, use the fit guide.
Fit & installation
Start with Platform: it fits square or rectangular tubing from 1/2″ to 1-5/8″ wide, with at least 3/4″ outside-tubing height and 1-3/4″ between cross-members. Standard fits an L-shaped rail measuring 1-1/2″ × 1-1/2″ outside or 1-1/4″ × 1-1/4″ inside. It does not fit the 2″ vertical-side variant.
Platform clamps to compatible square or rectangular tubing. Standard fits a compatible L-shaped steel rail beneath a box spring. Universal includes two standalone magnets for cars, trucks, walls, desks, safes and other suitable solid mounting surfaces.
Use the screw-mounted Universal magnets on suitable solid surfaces such as desks, walls, nightstands, vehicles and workbenches. Choose fasteners suited to the surface; the supplied screws are for wood or the included drywall anchors.
No. The mount ships fully assembled and clamps on with a compression bolt you turn by hand. There is no drilling, adhesive tape or permanent modification to the frame. Installation takes minutes. Written instructions and a QR code for the installation videos are included.
Screws are required. On a sturdy surface, tape may provide cushioning or supplement the installation, but it must never be the only attachment.
No. RESTNLOAD does not recommend its products for adjustable or motorized bed-base designs.
The Platform bracket will not open far enough for an outside rail wider than 1-5/8″. Clamp it to a compatible narrower cross-member or slat if your frame has one. Otherwise, use a magnet from the Universal 2-Pack on a suitable solid surface, using the supplied screws where appropriate.
Yes. After you choose the correct assembly, the Platform or Standard mount can be installed anywhere on a compatible section of the bed frame, including the footboard side.
Compatibility & performance
If it has a steel slide or steel frame, it will likely hold. More surface contact is better. Customers have reported success with many firearm configurations. Non-ferrous metals and composites are common exceptions because they are not magnetic.
The 43 lb figure is a rated pull force measured under test conditions. Actual holding depends on the mount orientation and the contact surface between the handgun and magnet. A flat steel slide usually provides more contact than a curved or nonmagnetic surface.
Safety & the fine print
No metal surface on the magnet contacts the firearm. Unlike removable sleeves, RESTNLOAD bonds the rubber to the magnet and backing, enclosing the metal. This was an important part of the design. Confirm secure contact and normal operation with your unloaded firearm before use.
No. The product contains a powerful magnet. Persons with medical devices should not use or handle this product.
Under normal conditions, permanent magnets retain their strength for a long time. Keep this product away from extreme heat sources and follow the inspection guidance supplied with it.
